Eul-Soo Pang is a former senior Fulbright visiting lecturer in the graduate history program at the Federal University of Pernambuco. He is a faculty associate of the Universities Field Staff International in Latin America (1984–1987).

Laura Jarnagin is a former ITT fellow in Brazil. She has written for Anais do Museu Paulista and is engaged in research on nineteenth century Brazilian planter-state relations.
