John Kolsti is acting chairman of the department of Slavic languages and literature at the University of Texas at Austin. He has contributed to several volumes on the folklore and politics in East Europe, most recently “Albanianism: From the Humanists to Hoxha,” in George Klein and Milan J. Reban, eds., The Politics of Ethnicity in Eastern Europe (Boulder: East European Monographs, 1981).
