Patrick O’Meara, a specialist on the problems of Southern Africa, is the director of the African Studies Program at Indiana University. A graduate of the University of Cape Town, South Africa, he is the author of Rhodesia: Racial Conflict or Co-existence? (Ithaca: Cornell University Press, 1975) and is coeditor with Gwendolen M Carter of Southern Africa in Crisis (Bloomington: Indiana University Press, 1977) and with Phyllis M. Martin, Africa (Bloomington: Indiana University Press, 1977) and with Gwendolen M, Carter, Southern Africa: The Continuing Crisis (Bloomington: Indiana University Press, 1979).
