Philip R. Pryde is a specialist on natural resource conservation and environmental problems in the U.S.S.R. He is the author of Conservation in the Soviet Union (Cambridge, England: Cambridge University Press, 1972), and of several articles relating to energy and the environment in the U.S.S.R. He has traveled widely in the Soviet Union, most recently as a member of a President’s Council on Environmental Quality exchange delegation to the U.S.S.R. to study Soviet environmental law and citizen ecology groups.
