David E. Long
Senior Analyst, Office of Research for Near East and South Asia, Department of State
David E. Long has taught at several universities in the Washington, D.C., area and is currently a professorial lecturer at Georgetown University. He entered the United States Foreign Service in 1962. On leave of absence, in 1974, he was an International Affairs Fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations and, concurrently, a Senior Fellow of the Georgetown University Center for Strategic and International Studies. He is the author of The Persian Gulf, rev. ed. (Boulder, Colo.: Westview Press, 1978) and other studies, and articles and reviews in various journals.
