W. Scott Morton is Assistant to the President of Bloomfield College, New Jersey. He holds degrees from Cambridge University and the University of Edinburgh, has lived in China and Japan, and is the author of Japan: Its History and Culture (New York: Crowell, 1970) and The Japanese: How They Live and Work (New York: Praeger, 1973).
