Koji Taira has taught at the University of the Ryukyus, the University of Washington, and Stanford University, and was an official of the International Labour Office in Geneva, Switzerland, He is currently Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics and in the Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations at the University of Illinois. He is author of Economic Development and the Labor Market in Japan (New York: Columbia University Press, 1970) and An Outline of Japanese Economic History, with Mikio Sumiya (Tokyo: The University of Tokyo Press, 1978).
