Richard W. Hull has traveled extensively in Africa since 1961 under a Fulbright-Hays Fellowship and grants from the New York State Department of Education and New York University. In 1974, he wrote, produced, and narrated for CBS television a 47-part series entitled “African Civilizations,’ which was broadcast in this country, Canada, and Africa. He is the author of numerous books, including African Cities and Towns before the European Conquest (New York: W. W. Norton, 1976) and Munyakare: African Civilization (New York: Wiley, 1973).
