Stanford Calderwood, a former executive vice president of Polaroid Corporation, has spent most of his working career in the corporate sector except for about a year in public television. During that stint, he found the first year’s programs for “Masterpiece Theater,” and then convinced Mobil Oil Corporation to give nearly $1 million needed for initial underwriting. He currendy is a director and a major shareholder of an investment advisory firm that manages about $1 billion in assets for university endowments and corporate pension funds.
