David C. Jordan is professor and chairman of the Woodrow Wilson Department of Government at the University of Virginia. He is a member of the board of research consultants of the Foreign Policy Research Institute and a member of the editorial board of Orbis. Also, he is the author of books and articles on Latin American politics and international relations.
