Chu-yuan Cheng is professor in economics and chairman of the Asian Studies Committee at Ball State University, Indiana. His latest publications include: Allocation of Fixed Capital Investment in China (Ann Arbor: Center for Chinese Studies, The University of Michigan, 1974), The Machine-Building Industry in Communist China (Chicago: Aldine-Atherton, 1971), and other books and monographs on Chinese economy. He is presently engaged in a research project on the petroleum industry in China.
