Roger H. Davidson is on leave from his post as professor of political science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is author of The Role of the Congressman (Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill, 1969) and The Politics of Comprehensive Manpower Legislation (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins Press, 1973), as well as numerous articles. His co-authored works include On Capitol Hill (New York: Holt, Rinehart & Winston, 1972), a legislative casebook; and Congress in Crisis (Belmont, Calif.: Duxbury, 1966), a study of the politics of congressional reform. He has served as a consultant to the National Commission on the Causes and Prevention of Violence, the National Commission on Population Growth and the American Future, and the White House.
