Lewis L. Gould is the author of Wyoming: A Political History, 1868–1896 (New Haven: Yale University Press, 1968), and Progressives and Prohibitionists: Texas Democrats in the Wilson Era (Austin: University of Texas Press, 1973). He has edited and contributed articles to The Progressive Era (Syracuse: Syracuse University Press, 1974), and is working on a history of the Republican party from 1897 to 1913.
