Giorgio Perissinotto spent the 1972–73 academic year in Oaxaca, Mexico, as a participant in a project to teach Spanish to monolingual speakers of Indian languages. He is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Hispanic Languages and Literature of the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
