R. S. Milne was formerly Professor of Political Science at the Universit of Singapore. He is author of Government and Politics in Malaysia (Boston: Houghton, Mifflin, 1967), co-author (with K. J. Ratnam) of The Malayan Parliamentary Election of 1964 (London: Oxford University Press, 1967), and New States in a ew Nation (London: Cass, 1973).

Diane K. Mauzy is a Ph.D. student, University of British Columbia, and served in East Malaysia for three years as a Peace Corps volunteer.
