Walter I. Trattner is the author of Homer Folks: Pioneer in Social Welfare (New York: Columbia University Press, 1968), Crusade for the Children: A History of the National Child Labor Committee and Child Labor Reform in America (Chicago: Quadrangle Books, 1970), and From Poor Law to Welfare State: A History of Social Welfare in America, to be published later in 1973 by The Free Press. He is also the author of numerous articles in scholarly journals.
