Adam Ulam, who has been on the faculty of Harvard University since 1947, is also research associate at Harvard’s Russian Research Center. He is the author of many books on the Soviet Union, including Expansion and Coexistence: the History of Soviet Foreign Policy 1917–1967 (New York: Praeger, 1968).
