Pretrial Crime News: To Curb or Not to Curb?

John Lofton, now on the staff o f the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, is also an author and teacher. He has taught mass media courses at the University of Pittsburgh and has written many magazine articles and three books, including Justice and the Press (Boston: Beacon Press, 1966), which deals with the impact of newspapers on criminal justice. He is also a member of the bar.
