Japan and the Continental Giants

Martin E. Weinstein was until recently a research associate and executive editor of Columbia University’s East Asian Institute. After serving in Japan with the United States Air Force for three years, he returned to Tokyo in 1967–1968 for research on Japan’s defense policy. He is the author of Japan’s Postwar Defense Policy, 1947–1968 (New York: Columbia University Press, 1971).
