David J. Murray spent nearly 10 years teaching and conducting research at different universities in East, Central and West Africa, spending the longest period in Nigeria. His research interests lie in the fields of public and comparative administration and much of his attention has been directed to Africa. He has published more than a dozen articles and five books in this area, the most recent of which are The Governmental System in Southern Rhodesia (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1970) and (as editor) Studies in Nigerian Administration (London: Hutchinson, 1970).
