Ralph L. Powell has taught at Princeton University and the National War College He was Counselor of Embassy and Director of U.S.I.S. in Taipei, Taiwan, from 1956 to 1958, and has served as consultant to the Army War College, the National War College and the Department of State. Dr. Powell is the author of The Rue of Chinese Military Power (Princeton, N.J.: Princeton University Press, 1955), Politico-Military Relations in Communist China (Washington, D.C.: Department of State, 1963) and The Chinese Red Army: An Annotated Bibliography, in collaboration with E. J. M. Rhoads, et al. (Cambridge, Mass.: Harvard University Press, 1964).
