Harish Kapur has been teaching at the Graduate Institute of International Studies since 1962. He was Assistant Legal Adviser to the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees for four years. In 1961–1962, he was a Research Associate at the Russian Research Center at Harvard University. He is the author of Soviet Russia and Asia: 1917–1927 (London: Michael Joseph, 1966) and is finishing a book on China and the Third World: 1949–1969.
