Rollie E. Poppino served with the State Department from 1945 to 1961, and has traveled widely in Latin America. He is the author of International Communism in Latin America (New York: The Free Press, 1964), and, more recently, Brazil: The Land and the People (New York: Oxford University Press, 1968).
