India: The Politics of Coalition and Survival

Norman D. Palmer is chairman of the International Relations Graduate Program at the University of Pennsylvania and of the Friends of India Committee. A contributing editor of Current History and a member of the editorial board of Orbis, Mr. Palmer has lived in India and has been a frequent visitor to South Asia. He is the author of numerous publications on India and South Asia, the most recent being South Asia and United States Policy (Boston: Hough ton-Mifflin, 1966).
