Christina Phelps Harris lived in Egypt during 1930 to 1934. She served in the United States Department of State as area specialist on the Arab world in the Near Eastern Affairs division from 1945 to 1947. From 1948 to 1959, Mrs. Harris was Middle East curator and a professor in the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, Among the several books she has written on Middle East affairs is Nationalism and Revolution in Egypt: The Role of the Muslim Brotherhood (Stanford : The Hoover Institution, 1964).
