Mario Rodríguez has written widely on Latin America. He is the author of Frederick Chatfield, Esq., A Palmerstonian Diplomat in Central America (Tucson: University of Arizona Press, 1964) and Central America (Englewood Cliffs, N.J.: Prentice-Hall, 1965) and a contributing editor to the Handbook of Latin American Studies. He was the recipient of the James Alexander Robertson Prize in 1955, a Morse Fellowship in 1958 and, in 1964, of a Guggenheim Fellowship for research in Central America.
