Federico G. Gil is professor of political science at the University of North Carolina. A specialist in Latin American politics, Dr. Gil has lectured and traveled extensively in the United States and Latin America. He participated in the drafting of the Alliance for Progress in 1960 and directed a Peace Corps Project in 1962, He participated in the establishment of INTAL (Institute for the Integration of Latin America) during the summer of 1965 as a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, He has recently been elected to the executive council of LASA (Latin American Studies Association) . With W. W. Pierson, he is the author of Governments of Latin America (New York: McGraw-Hill, 1957). His most recent works are The Political System of Chile (Boston: Hough ton Mifflin, 1966) and Visión del desarrollo politico de América Latina (Buenos Aires: INTAL, 1966).
