Michael T. Florinsky is a contributing editor of Current History. He retired from Columbia University in June, 1963, and is now living in Switzerland. He is the author of many books, the most recent of which is Russia: A Short History (New York: Macmillan, 1964). In addition, he edited the illustrated McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Russia and the Soviet Union (New York: McGraw-Hill, 1961).
