Edward W. Fox, in addition to his duties at Cornell since 1946, has spent two years at Princeton’s Institute for Advanced Study and two years in France. Prior to that, he was an instructor at Harvard and in 1945–1946 served as an analyst at the State Department. He is the author of the Oxford Atlas of European History (New York: Oxford University Press, 1957) and Development of Western Civilization (Ithaca: Cornell University Press, 1950).
