The Somali Republic

Saadia Touval, a veteran of the Israel Defense Forces, received his A.B. and Ph.D. at Harvard University. He served as a Research Associate at Harvard’s Center for International Affairs in 1960–1961 and since then has been teaching at Hebrew University.He toured the Horn of Africa in 1960 and re-visited Kenya in 1963. He is the author of Somali Nationalism: International Politics and the Drive for Unity in the Horn of Africa.
