Arnold Rivkin has worked on African affairs since 1950 in many capacities—as a lawyer, foreign-aid administrator, academic researcher, consultant and economist Formerly Director of the Project on African Economic and Political Development at the M.I.T. Center for International Studies, he is the author of some 50 articles and two books on Africa—Africa and the West (1962) and The African Presence in World Affairs (1963). He has worked and traveled in more than 25 African countries and territories.
