Wilbur J. Cohen was Technical Adviser to the Commission for Social Security in charge of program development and legislative coordination work with Congress from 1935 to 1952. He served as director of the Division of Research and Statistics in the Social Security Administration (in H.E.W.) from 1953 to 1956. He is on leave from the University of Michigan where he was Professor of Public Welfare Administration (1956-1961). Author of Retirement Policies in Social Security, he has published many articles on medical care for the aged.
