Robert Ulich taught at Harvard University from 1934 to his retirement in 1960. In addition to his duties as professor of education, he was also a member of the Department of History of Science and Learning and the Harvard Divinity School. He was bom in Germany and lived there until 1933. He was Counselor in charge of higher education in the Saxon Ministry of Education from 1923 to 1933. He has written many books in both English and German; his works include History of Educational Thought and The Education of Nations.
