Edward A. Fitzpatrick is president emeritus of Mount Mary College for Women, Milwaukee. Since 1946 he has been a member of the advisory board of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He was on active duty in the Office of the Director of Selective Service from 1942 to 1945; since 1945 he has served as advisor to the U.S. Director of Selective Service. Mr. Fitzpatrick has edited General Hershey’s three volume report on Selective Service in Peacetime, Selective Service in Wartime, and Selective Service as the Tide of War Turns. His books include Conscription and America and Universal Military Training. He is editor of the Catholic School Journal.
