During World War II and immediately afterward, Norman J. Padelford was an officer of the Department of State and for sometime a special adviser to the Secretary of State. He participated in the Dumbarton Oaks and San Francisco Conferences and the London Council of Foreign Ministers. Author of many books including a text entitled International Politics, he has been given leave to work at the United Nations on a longrange study of regional arrangements and the United Nations for the M.I.T. Center for International Studies.
