Berlin and the Balance of Power

In addition to his duties as Chairman of the Committee on International ReIatiom at the University of Notrc Dame, Stephen D. Kertesz has recently completed a study trip to ten Western European countries on a Guggenheim Fellowship. With M. Z. Fitzsirnons, he has edited two symposia, What America Stands For and Diplomcy in a Changing World, published Iast summer. Mr. Kertesz was Secretary General of the Hungarian Delegation to the Paris Peace Conference in 1946, the Hungarian Minister to Italy in 1947, and visiting lecturer at the Yale Law School from 1948 to 1950. Author of Diplomacy in a Whirlpool: Hungary between Nazi Gernaany and the Soviet Ufiion, he has also edited The Fate of East Central Europe: Hopes and Failures of American Foraign Policy; and is a Current History contributing editor.
