Benjamin Martin, on the national staff of the International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers (I.U.E.), is currently on leave from his post and is living in Japan as a Ford Fellow. He is now completing a three-year program of study and research on Asian labor affairs with emphasis on Japan. His articles have appeared in scholarly and general publications in the United States and in Japan, and he is currently working on two books in the general field of Japanese labor.
