Weak Unionism in France

Charles A. Micaud was born and educated in France; he received his Ph.D. in government from Columbia University. He has taught at Harvard, Columbia and Johns Hopkins University, and is the author of the French Right and Nazi Germany and of the forthcoming Communism and the Crisis of French Democracy. Grants from the Rockefeller and Ford Foundations allowed him to return to France several times in the last few years and to do research in the field of labor.
