Claude A. Eggertsenhas been at the University of Michigan since 1939 where he is Chairman of the Department of Social Foundations in the School of Education. He is editor of the History of Education Journal and executive secretary of the National Society of College Teachers of Education. From time to time he has visited Great Britain for purposes of research and as honorary visiting professor of education at the University of Sheffield.
