Thomas Hodgkinwas formerly Secretary to the Oxford University Delegacy for Extra-Mural Studies, Fellow of Balliol College, and Provost of Queens College, Oxford. A contributor to various journals including the Manchester Guardian, Spectator, New Statesman and Nation, and Twentieth Century, Mr. Hodgkin has traveled fairly extensively in Africa, northwards of the Belgian Congo.
