Roy Wilkinswas managing editor of The Call, a Negro weekly published in Kansas City, Missouri, from 1923 to 1931. He became Assistant Executive Secretary of the NAACP in 1931 and served as editor of The Crisis, official monthly publication of that organization, at the same time. He is the author of a number of books and pamphlets and has a chapter in the book What the Negro Wants. Included among his radio and television appearances is a one-year stint as a panel member of the weekly program Pride and Prejudice. In 1949-1930 he was Chairman of the National Emergency Civil Rights Mobilization.
