C. Vann Woodwardhas taught at many colleges and universities. He has received Guggenheim and Rosenwald Fellowships, among others. Since 1948 Mr. Woodward has served as a member of the board of editors for the Journal of Southern History. His books include The Battle for Leyte Gulf, Tom Watson: Agrarian Rebel, Reunion and Reaction and Origins of the New South 1877-1913.
