Desegregation In Perspective

Oscar Handlinis the author of several books including the Pulitzer Prizewinner, The Uprooted, as well as numerous articles in many magazines. His newest book is Race and Nationality in American Life, published this year. He has been elected to membership in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Handlin has also received the John H. Dunning Prize awarded by the American Historical Association.
