The United States and a United West

Hans Kohnspent the year 1955-1956 on sabbatical leave doing research at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and at Harvard working on his Age of Nationalism, A History of National Movements and Ideas, Mainly in Europe 1789-1920, and finishing American Nationalism: An Interpretive Essay, to be published by Macmillan this month. He is author of Nationalism and Liberty: The Swiss Example, which was published in an American edition in October, 1956.
