HARVEY P. HALL, since leaving government service in 1946, has been Editor of The Middle East Journal and Director of Publications for The Middle East Institute, Washington, D. C. In 1952-1953 he travelled widely in the Middle East while on a special assignment for the Ford Foundation. Before the war he was an instructor at both the American University o f Beirut, Lebanon, and Robert College, Istanbul, Turkey.
