ELLEN D. ELLIS is Well known to our readers for her studies of United States government and of the Middle East. Miss Ellis received her Ph.D, from Bryn Mawr and, has studied at the University of Leipzig. Formerly head of the History Department at Constantinople College, she also served as acting librarian at Istanbul Women’s College in 1946-1947. She is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Mount Holyoke College.
