HERMANN LUTZ is the author of two books exploring the causes of World War I: Lord Grey and the World War (German edition, 1927; English translation, 1923) and Die Europaeische Politik in der Julikrise 1914, published in 1930 by the Reichstag Committee which was investigating the origins of the war. From 1925-1938, Mr. Lutz was occupied with bringing out a German edition of the British Documents on the Origins of the War, 1898-1914. Since coming to this country in 1948, he has been at work under a grant at the Hoover Institute and Library on a three-volume study of the War of 1870, World War I, Versailles, Weimar and Hitler. It is tentatively entitled The German Problem.
