RICHARD W. VAN ALSTYNE, who has been Visiting Professor at the University of Washington, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the University of Michigan, spent his Sabbatical leave in Europe during the spring and summer of 1954. At present, he is working on the third revised edition of American Diplomacy in Action (first published in 1944) and a new study, British Diplomacy during the American War for Independence, 1775-1782.
