Britain and the United States in Latin America Before 1865

ALEXANDER MARCHANT was chairman in 1953 of the Conference on Latin-American History of the American Historical Association. In 1952, he traveled to Brazil on grants from the Social Science Research Council and the Institute for Research and Training in the Social Sciences of Vanderbilt University.
