JOHN S. GALBRAITH received his Ph.D. from, the University of Iowa. He has written The Establishment of Canadian Diplomatic Status at Washington and has been working on The Hudson’s Bay Company as an Imperial Power. He has been associated with U.C.L.A. since 1948.
